Hearing range provides a abrupt cut-off, where you do not receive the audio packets for a user, but this can be jarring and doesn't gracefully reduce the volume of users before hitting the cut-off.
Also there is no system currently in-game to change the hearing range drop-off volume curve.
Describe your preferred solution
- Implement a mechanism to drop-off the audio volume of players that moves with the Hearing range adjustment.
- Allow users to adjust the drop-off bias before the Hearing range cut-off, so they can choose to make a conversation in a group of players quieter or louder as desired.
