Microsoft WinGet Client update is found by UniGetUI but it can't be downloaded.

Steps to reproduce the issue

Just start to update process via UniGetUI.

Thanks for the report.

From the logs, UniGetUI detects the update correctly and prepares the PowerShell command, but the actual update execution output is not included. The attached package manager log only contains a refresh task.

Could you please provide:

1. The log entry for the failed Update task.
2. Any error message shown in the operation details pane after the update fails.
3. The result of running the following command manually in PowerShell (as Administrator):

Update-Module -Name Microsoft.WinGet.Client -Force

That should help identify where the issue is occurring

Thanks, this is helpful.

From the logs, the first update attempt fails because Update-Module does not recognize the -Scope parameter:

NamedParameterNotFound,Update-Module

UniGetUI then retries the update without -Scope, but the update still doesn't go through. So while the -Scope issue is something we need to fix, it doesn't seem to be the underlying cause of the problem.

We'll investigate this on our side and post here if we find anything relevant or have an update.

I hope people check that they have Portmaster or some Privacy fix installed. Those will block Microsoft.
