Google Messages is not shown among the Apps.

Expected Behavior

I would expect to see Google Messages among the Apps

Did you check the filters if you have "system apps" on?

Also, please be aware that messages (sms/mms) are usually stored on a system-level (not even in the app itself), and would usually require enabling special backups (under settings→advanced; restart NB after enabling it for permissions; check if the filters fit)
