Can't get the package to run

@mahmoudElkarargyBS : Hi, I'm really interested in using your package to generate synthetic datasets for methodological projects, but I cannot install it and run it. It seems that some dependencies are not up to date. For instance your package relies on Chameleon 1.1.0, whereas the latest version is 1.3.0, and Chameleon 1.1.0 is not compatible with the latest version of starpu. I can give you the exact list of the problems I encountered if you want.

I finally was able to compile the package by manually modifying the make files, but then I cannot get it to run: the R session crashes everytime I try to use the package. I guess the way I fixed the compilation process introduced a problem in the C++ code.

Summary: I'm stuck, and I can't use the package unless it is properly updated by maintainers.

Question: Do you plan to update the package in the near future, or should I find another package? I'll be happy to help in the updating process if you need help.

Can you clarify why you need to use the latest released versions of Chameleon and StarPU? If it's specifically required for your project, one possible workaround is to keep your own versions separate and allow ExaGeoStat to install its own compatible dependencies. This means you'd need to temporarily hide your installed Chameleon and StarPU so that ExaGeoStat doesn't detect them and instead builds and links against the versions it supports.

We’ve attempted updating Chameleon in the past, but as you mentioned, it also required a StarPU update. Unfortunately, this introduced several issues in our codebase, especially since we also depend on HiCMA, which relies on StarPU and hasn’t yet been updated to support the latest versions.
