Can't get Y2 ganged motor to work on a BTT Octopus Pro 1.1

Hi from Portugal,

First of all, congratulations for the awesome work you guys do to make GRBLHall, working.
I have an Issue with my CNC, I used to use grbl 1.1 on Arduino with CNC Shield. Now I change to a BTT Octopus Pro 1.1.
But, for some reason I can't make my Ganged Y2 motor to work. I compile the firmware via web builder and Y1 moves and Y2 is Stuck. When the Y1 stops moving I can move Y2 by hand. If I change cables is the oposite Y1 Stuck Y2 moves, I already change the driver and the cables, everything is good.
It must be a software issue, I think.

Can you guys help me?

Just to verify your motor connections, X, Y, Z, should be the first three driver module locations, and Y2 should be the fourth?

The various BTT docs and the grblHAL board map can be a little inconsistent, as some describe motors 0-7, and some 1-8. However, checking the schematics, it all appears to be as defined in the map file.

One thing worth noting is that the enable signal for this fourth motor changed with the 1.1 board revision (was moved from PA0 to PA2, and this v1.1 pinout is what is defined in the H7 board map).

Are you able to probe the signals on the driver headers if needed?

Yes is the H723 Board. As you can see in the image attached I connect X, Y1, Z and Y2(Drive 3 or Motor 4).

Yes, off course, and every thing seem s normal.

If I change the cables, or the driver, or even the board connections, every thigs seem ok, besides the fact that one motor not working (y2 not work, if I change the drives, Y1 not work and Y2 work), independant of motor you connect.

Not sure I quite follow. Are you saying that if you just swap the breakout boards (and therefore all the attached wiring+driver+stepper) between motor outputs 2 and 4, then the problem always remains at motor output 4?

So by my logic, there has to be a difference in the ENABLE/STEP/DIRECTION signals at that header for motor 4?

What do you have available to check them - oscilloscope, logic analyser, or multimeter? I would start by just comparing signals with the equivalent pins on output 2..

I guess it's probably also worth pasting in your $I, $PINS, and $$ outputs here.

I Also, measure the voltage beetween the Enable pin of Y2 and ground, and when in motion the voltage is zero, when stops the voltage is 4,44V.

One thing I notice is that independetly the axis I move, the voltage goes to zero. And wheen stops goes to 4,4V on every axis.

I'm not an expert in electronics, just a curious.

This is correct behaviour.

Can you try to move Y2 to MOTOR4/DRIVER4 by enabling the A-axis (four axis configuration)?

Sorry for the late reply terjeio, but I was away from home on an aircraft maintenance.

After I try your last sugestion (Y2 to MOTOR4), it dindn't work. But when I revert the changes to the initial form, everything starts to work perfectly. I don't know what was wrong, I Just know that every thing is working now. My wife says it was "James", our resident ghost... 😂.
