Lack of response indicates everyone is happy with Pix crop function as it is, "simple crop" not needed. |

Having migrated to Mint a while ago from W here is the thing I really miss most: the lightning fast crops using Irfanview, e.g. for screenshots or other image, in combination with a little image enhancement here and there. IView keyboard command crops work as follows:
In contrast to this the Pix crop function is awkward to use, takes two menu commands (seemingly no keyboard access), saving the resized image, etc. Dragging the strange grid squares to your desired cutout is a chore.
I've tried another few apps. Flameshot comes close but still IView can't be beat for simplicity. So I spend a couple of hours getting IView to run under WINE. Some fiddling for the keys to work. Was ok for a couple of months, now won't launch anymore after last system update. Very frustrating.
Perhaps it is possible, without undue development effort, to add this simple crop function, perhaps complementing the existing one for those that have gotten used to it. A direct access icon on the main UI would be a further improvement.
Intended as constructive criticism. Team doing a great job. Very happy Linux convert..
