Hey, I don't maintain SWAPI much anymore. I am sorry the site is down. If you need SWAPI specifically then please fork and spin up your own instance. It is opensource to enable exactly that.

If you just need an API to learn how to use APIs - https://pokeapi.co is maintained and has much better infrastructure.
