A guide or script to archive old migrations

Is there a recommended way to archive old migrations?

The way I have done this in the past is to consolidate the "current state" of what you are migrating against into a single starter migration. So like often folks start with something like this:

• init-date.js
• first-date.js
• second-date.js

What I do then is export the database state and replace init-date.js with that and delete the rest. Does that help?
