Deliverables
Manchester leads on two deliverables:
Partners: UCAM, CODATA, TVS
Timeline: M7 - M34, then D2.5
Existing experiences with adoption of Copernicus data show the need for data transformations and derived climate datasets (e.g. filtered aggregations). In particular combined queries can suffer from a large variety in conventions such as measurement techniques which are essential to correctly understand or integrate data. For CLIMATE-ADAPT4EOSC, the derived data products (T2.3) however raise challenges in terms of building trust in the data. This task will primarily address this through metadata generation and provenance tracking. Using standards like W3C PROV, DCAT-AP and schema.org, the provenance data is both stored in the derived data distribution (T2.3) for use and in the common knowledge graph (T2.5) to inform findability. A method for users to contribute data usage records (e.g. for computational workflow execution) will be explored by UNIMAN, which further adds transparency to how climate data is used in the data life cycle (T4.5) and gives data providers an incentive to contribute interactions (T2.2), as well as documenting compliance with governance and licensing restrictions (T3.3 and T3.4), building on Five Safe Crate use for tracking protected access to sensitive health data.
Partners: CODATA
Timeline: M9 - M32, then D4.3
Building on the consortium’s experience with Five Safes Framework for accessing sensitive health data, and legal interoperability (e.g. policy ontologies, T3.4), this internal service will be used to restrict and track CLIMATEADAPT4EOSC usage of the client services, to ensure conformance with the agreed policies with the data sources (e.g. only non-commercial usage), licences and anonymisation requirement. The decisions are tracked as part of the transparency layer (T2.5) to provide oversight for the sources.
Note also T5.5 [M37-M48] following delivery of other services: Support works to adapt and update the technical development according to the demonstrations feedback
