Great into slides, big font. I like it.
Instead of tables you can show the entire distributions. Like pick a random non-event weekend. Show dist. On the same figure in a different color you can show on the weekend of event.
Nice story driven presentation!
Maybe as a future project you can study the artists' perspective. Should they tour South America?

Progress presentation comments:

  • use xaringan please so you can gain more experience working with it.
  • wayback machine is not a good idea, I think you should check newspaper articles manually for each restaurant. If you google restaurant name, address, and "Michelin" it should point you to a newspaper article about the restaurant getting Michelin star along with its date.
  • I like the global distribution of stars. You should make a map instead of a bar chart which would look better.
  • Can you try incorporating info from 1) tourist spots, are more touristy areas more likely to generate Michelin stars 2) any correlation with info form world cousine surveys? Eg, when people are asked to rate world cousines and eg, Turkish food comes up at the top, does that create more Michelin stars.
  • I think you can orient your study as "drivers of Michelin stars"?
  • Is there any $$$ info you can incorporate?
