- upgrades go dependencies (2e437f5)
- upgrades makefile modules (db456d0)
- fixes issues discovered by new linters (a492379 and 32d7c68)

I haven't tested the changes, but I am confident all is good. I've looked at the two deps that often break and I found nothing that could be breaking:
k8s.io/client-go v0.34.1 -> v0.34.2
sigs.k8s.io/controller-runtime v0.22.3 -> v0.22.4
