Improve softwareType definitions

This PR:

• fixes some typos/errors;
• proposes some slightly new definitions.

It is somehow linked to #221 but probably more work has to be done on that side.
If the English description fits I will translate them at least in Italian.

Woops I've just seen you have been discussing this issue in #216 after opening this PR, my bad 🫤 However it seems we are converging to backed == some sort of interface exposed.

I have the feeling that one day platform and softwareType will eventually get merged...

@libremente on the long run we need to come up with a good specification for softwareType indeed. For now i think this discussion will not end anytime soon, so i propose to get on with your descriptions in the meanwhile.

Im not sure if it would be wise to get rid of the platform property in the end. It does give applications the opportunity the specify which platforms (linux/ windows/ mac) they assist.

If we achieve to settle this discussion: #216 we can always go with the new softwareType.
