Parameters

 

str

Type: System.String
String to retrieve substring from.

origin

Type: CodeJam.Strings.StringOrigin
Specifies the beginning, or the end as a reference point for offset, using a value of type StringOrigin.

length

Type: System.Int32
The number of characters in the substring.

Return Value

Type: String
A string that is equivalent to the substring of length length that begins at origin in str, or Empty if length of str or length is zero.

Usage Note

In Visual Basic and C#, you can call this method as an instance method on any object of type String. When you use instance method syntax to call this method, omit the first parameter. For more information, see Extension Methods (Visual Basic) or Extension Methods (C# Programming Guide).
