This project examines SFU’s research areas of strength, weakness, and growth using OpenAlex data. It includes network analysis to identify key academic collaborations and comparative benchmarking against other institutions.

This project involves analyzing Tri-Agency grant awards across Canada over the past five years to identify funding trends, SFU’s market share, and key shifts in research funding.

This initiative aims to develop an AI-powered system that automates grant discovery by aggregating funding opportunities across various sources. Using natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning, the system will match grants to SFU researchers and programs based on eligibility, research focus, and funding requirements.

This research project explores the impact of allowing second-year computer science students (CMPT 276) to use ChatGPT for their take-home assignments. It aims to assess how AI integration affects student learning, assignment quality, originality, and broader educational implications.

The Co-Grading Tool (CGT) is an AI-powered web application designed to support instructors and teaching assistants in grading student assignments more efficiently. By leveraging generative AI, CGT provides timely, detailed, and rubric-aligned feedback while maintaining strict data privacy standards.

This role supports SFU’s data integration initiatives, including data modeling for experimental projects, defining data zones, and managing the data lifecycle. The student will assist in predictive analytics experiments focused on student success and contribute to building a more cohesive data infrastructure across SFU’s operations.
